Steven Curtis Chapman & Scott Sheriff

Stephanie and I had the most awesome time at the Steven Curtis Chapman concert last night in Columbus. The treatment we received as being guests of the band was simply outstanding and we felt like celberities ourselves. It was kind of awkward in a a way, yet very cool at the same time. There is so much to tell on this point that Stephanie and I are going to record a podcast episode of My Crazy Life about last night in the next few days, maybe even this evening.

The highlight of the evening was the back stage experience with Steven and Scott. I wont share too much here as I want to save all the good information about this experience for our podcast listeners. However, here are some photos taken backstage.

Steven Curtis Chapman is an amazing artist. He was one of the first Christian artists I ever listened to when I first came to Christ. It was awesome to hear him play so many of the songs from his first abum I purchased titled “For the sake of the Call.” Meeting him in person was quite an honor. I got to talk to him briefly about our ministry in the cell church movement and in podcasting. Steven was just as sincere and kind off stage as he was on. May God continue to bless his ministry in music.

Scott Sheriff is the keyboardist for Steven and also a Lostaholic. Scott started to email me several months back telling me his thoughts about Lost. He told me that he played in the band with Steven Curtis Chapman at the time and we have been talking a great deal since via email. It was so cool to finally meet Scott in person.

Scott, Stephanie and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the gift of such and awesome night!

WOW! The Benefits of Podcasting!

I can’t tell you just how glad I am that Stephanie and I have decided to podcast in our free time! We have been so blessed by having such a large audience who love and support everything we do from all over the world. I’ve been able to interview the man known as the “Father of the Cell Church Movement” for our “About the Church Podcast.”

Stephanie and I have received a LARGE NUMBER of emails from people who have been encouraged to persue a Spiritual Journey following Christ as a result of our podcasts. The first such incident started back when we did a show titled “Kim’s Email” for our “My Crazy Life Podcast.”

We have encouraged a few folks to start their own podcasts and have even worked as a podcast consultant for a few of them.

Our Lost Podcast is simply more fun than any married couple should be allowed to have together. Through this show, we have learned that some of the Cast of the show listen to our podcast regularly. Heck, Jorge Garcia called in to our show recently and left this voicemail.

And tonight, we are going to be guests of the band at the Steven Curtis Chapman concert tonight at the Columbus State Fair. Scott Sheriff plays keyboards for SCC and is a regular listener of our Lost Podcast.

I never thought podcasting would be this much fun. I feel like I have found some sort of Calling in Life or something! Who know?

Breakfast With The Family

Stephanie and I just returned from taking the entire family on a one week trip to Disney World. We had a great time and even did a few podcasts about it that you can find on our My Crazy Life Podcast Page.

While we were in Florida, our family had breakfast together every day. This was a bit new to us. Our family is accustomed to having lunch together often, since I work just down the road from our home, and we almost always have dinner together as a family. However, breakfast had simply been overlooked due to our schedules being the way that they were.

One thing that we noticed was that there was a great deal more discussion around the breakfast table. I had noticed that rather than talk about the “trials” or difficulties of the day, we talked about “OUR” plans for the day. This is huge!

I’m a huge believer in the idea that if you don’t plan your day out, someone else or a group of other people will plan it for you. When this happens, you can simply end the day by doing a LOT of things, but not accomplishing anything of importance.

On the way home, a two day trip in the van, Stephanie pointed out that School is about to start again and that Meagan had to be up and out the door very early, something Meagan is not used to at all. Stephanie suggested that we start getting the entire family up, early each morning to have breakfast together as a great way to start our day.

Well, I’m excited to tell you that this morning, Stephanie got up before the rest of the family, started cooking breakfast, and before I left for work this morning, I had two pancakes, a few slices of bacon and a tall glass of orangejuice. And yo know what? I feel a lot better starting this day off with having a meal with the people I love most!

Stephanie, thank you so much for breakfast! I love you!
